Mending Little Hearts Fund – COVID-19 Notice: 23rd of March, 2020.

Our Pediatric Cardiology team is thinking of all of you and are here to support you in any way we can through this pandemic.

 Our routine follow up clinics are currently shut down and as of Monday March 23rd, 2020 we will be running urgent assessment clinics only at JPCH. If you have been triaged to be seen in the urgent clinic, our admin staff will contact you with detailed instructions about your appointment.

Some patients will be contacted by telephone for an assessment and then it will be determined if an urgent clinic visit is necessary or if they will be booked in clinic once the pandemic threat is over. All elective cardiac catheterizations and heart surgeries across Western Canada have been postponed until further notice. Urgent procedures will continue as needed.

To respond to concerns and questions you may have, we have a Pediatric Cardiologist assigned to answer any questions you may have over the phone as well. You can access this by phoning our office at (306) 844-1235. Your information will be collected and a Cardiologist will return your call by the end of the day. Please be patient with us as we try to meet the needs of all of our patients.

 The majority of children, including those with congenital heart disease are expected to have a mild case of COVID-19 should they contract it. Please follow the precautions and recommendations which are updated regularly online here.
