How can I donate to the Mending Little Hearts Fund?
You can donate directly to the fund through the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation here. Check out our Support Page for other ways to show your support for heart families. If you’d like to set up your own fundraiser, please contact us for more information.
What do you do with donations to the Mending Little Hearts Fund of Saskatchewan?
Donations to the Mending Little Hearts Fund address the unmet needs of children living with heart conditions in Saskatchewan by:
- Providing additional essential clinical equipment for families to use at home to monitor their child’s status
- Allowing a child and family to attend CHAMPS Camp.
- Supporting local research for children with heart conditions.
- Developing family support services and educational resources.
I am a heart family looking for support, where do I go?
The Little Hearts Family Group provides support to heart families in Saskatchewan. You can also join their Facebook group to stay connected with heart families.

The Western Canadian Children’s Heart Network has additional resources to help support heart families such as preparing for surgery, transition to adult cardiology and more!
How do I create my own fundraising page?
Visit our donation page! Scroll down the page, and on the bottom right there will be a prompt to create your own fundraising page through the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation. Funds raised through this page will be directed to the Mending Little Hearts Fund.
Are there volunteer opportunities available with the Mending Little Hearts Fund?
The Mending Little Hearts Fund is 100% volunteer based! We rely on our community to help support heart heroes through fundraising, social media, seeking corporate sponsorships and more!
We are always looking for volunteers, and appreciate any amount of time you are willing to give! Please contact us at info@mendinglittlehearts.ca to learn more.
I'd like to volunteer to participate in a study, how do I go about doing this?

CHAMPS Camp FAQs
How do I register for CHAMPS Camp programs?
Visit our CHAMPS Camp page for more information and registration forms, or email champscamp@mendinglittlehearts.ca.
Who can attend CHAMPS Camp?
Children are eligible for CHAMPS Camp if:
- They are seen by a Pediatric Cardiologist at the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital
- They are 7-17 years of age (some special programming also available for children 4-6 years and 17-20 years of age)

Are there fees to attend CHAMPS Camp?
No! There is no cost to attend any CHAMPS Camp program.
Thanks to the generous donations of community members, the Mending Little Hearts Fund of Saskatchewan is able to cover expenses such as food and accommodations for all families attending CHAMPS programs.
How often is CHAMPS Camp held?
CHAMPS Camp is offered year round! Our fall/winter programming runs September – April, and our week-long day camp is held in July.

Is CHAMPS Camp an overnight camp?
No. CHAMPS summer camp is a week-long day camp held at the University of Saskatchewan, and our Fall/Winter programs run biweekly on Sundays.
Do parents and caregivers attend CHAMPS Camp too?
Yes! Although children attend CHAMPS camp independently, we offer sessions specifically for parents and caregivers around topics such as mental health, nutrition, physical activity and more!
What makes CHAMPS Camp different from other camps?
CHAMPS Camp is a one of a kind program developed right here in Saskatchewan! CHAMPS is the only program in Canada to provide research-based physical and mental wellness programming to heart heroes year round.
When campers attend CHAMPS, they have the opportunity to build skills and confidence, in addition to building life-long connections with other children just like them. Campers also have the unique opportunity to participate in camp activities with their cardiologists, clinic staff and researchers.
