Allowing a child and family to attend the highly successful annual CHAMPS summer camp.
The Children’s Healthy-Heart Activity Monitoring Program in Saskatchewan – or CHAMPS Camp, is a program for children between the ages of 7 and 17 years with congenital or acquired heart disease. CHAMPS brings children with cardiac conditions together in a supportive, safe environment that encourages them to build their confidence in physical activity participation and mental wellness.
The camp is funded primarily through the Mending Little Hearts Fund of Saskatchewan. There are also numerous sponsors throughout the year who help make the program possible.

Research is an exceptionally important and vital part of the Mending Little Hearts fund. Congenital Heart Disease (CHD) is a leading type of birth defect and an increasing number of these children are living into adulthood as a result of advances in surgical interventions. However, children with CHD are predisposed to developing modifiable risk factors later in life such as cardiovascular disease and osteoporosis.
